Joanne K. Bradford Joins Yahoo! to Drive U.S. Revenue and Market Development

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sep 09, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO) today announced that Joanne K. Bradford, a recognized leader in the online content and advertising industry, has joined Yahoo! as senior vice president, U.S. Revenue and Market Development. In this newly created role, Bradford will oversee Sales, Market Development for Advertisers, Small Business, and Yahoo! HotJobs, and will report to Hilary Schneider, executive vice president of Yahoo! U.S.

"We are thrilled to have an executive of Joanne's caliber to lead Yahoo! through to the next phase of its growth," said Sue Decker, President, Yahoo!. "Yahoo! and Joanne have a shared mindset about the strategic role that Yahoo! and online marketing can play to bothbuild leading brands and drive customer acquisition for the world's leading marketers."

Schneider added, "Joanne's deep understanding of the marketplace coupled with her proven ability to package and deliver results-driven solutions for the world's biggest brands will help Yahoo!'s customers connect with the audiences they most want to reach not just on Yahoo!, but across the web."

Prior to joining Yahoo!, Bradford was executive vice president of National Advertising Services for Spot Runner, Inc. where she was responsible for leading the business unit focused on national advertisers. Before assuming her role at Spot Runner, Bradford led global product and platform development, content and programming, business development, product management, marketing and branded entertainment for Microsoft's MSN business. During her tenure with Microsoft, she also served as the corporate vice president of Global Sales and Marketing and chief media revenue officer for Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions across all Microsoft properties. Bradford also held leadership roles at BusinessWeek magazine, and is the recipient of numerous industry awards and accolades.

"My decision to come to Yahoo! was simple because there is no other company that combines one of the world's most recognizable brands with unparalleled reach, industry-leading products and programming, and a full spectrum of advertising offerings for marketers," said Bradford. "I am convinced that the very best days for this company are ahead, and I want to leverage my experience in programming, distribution, and selling to help Yahoo! take this business to the next level."

Other Executive Changes

David Karnstedt, senior vice president of U.S. Sales has decided to leave Yahoo! to pursue a new opportunity. Karnstedt, who resigned from the company earlier this summer, has been working closely with Schneider since that time to help ensure a seamless transition. Now, with a strong foundation in place for the U.S. Revenue and Market Development team, Karnstedt plans to leave Yahoo! on September 16 for a new opportunity as an executive in residence at one of the valley's leading venture capital firms. Karnstedt, who has contributed more than seven years to the company -- beginning with Overture -- recently led the integration of Yahoo!'s search, display, Blue Lithium and Right Media sales teams as the company moved away from selling disparate products toward selling integrated solutions.

"David has been a strong leader and major contributor to Yahoo!'s success over the years and I want to thank him for his leadership and dedication to our employees and customers," said Schneider. "On behalf of Yahoos everywhere, we wish him great success in the next chapter of his career."
