Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 on track: company

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 on track: company

Sony Ericsson has said that they rumors of delay in the launch of their much awaited Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 model are untrue.

The company had showcased the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 earlier this year. They are aiming to bring it to market before the start of the holiday season.

A company representative spoke about the rumors: “There is absolutely no delay. The product is on track. We have said it will roll out in Q4 and we are on target to do that.”

This would be the first mobile phone from Sony Ericsson to be powered by Windows Mobile operating system.

Market analyst Ben Wood spoke about Windows Mobile and new mobile phones: “The challenge for manufacturers is that Windows Mobile 6.1 is struggling to meet the high expectations that devices like the iPhone have set for top-tier phones. To try and overcome its shortcomings we’ve seen companies like HTC, Samsung and now Sony Ericsson go to great lengths to re-skin Windows Mobile in order to deliver something that is more appealing to mainstream consumers.”

Frankly speaking, Windows Mobile out of the box is no challenger to Apple iPhone 3G when it comes to sex appeal.
