Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been selected by the leading operator in northern Cyprus, Kuzey Kibris Turkcell, a subsidiary of Turkcell, as the sole supplier of a WCDMA/HSPA network. The move will enable the operator to offer high-speed mobile broadband, including mobile internet, video calls and other advanced multimedia services to its subscribers.
Under the agreement Ericsson will provide a WCDMA/HSPA network, including radio access and packet core network and the Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution. The agreement also includes Ericsson's mobile backhaul solution with microwave and optical transport equipment. Ericsson will also provide professional services such as consulting and systems integration.
