The company Motorola has announced the award of contracts worth 28 million dollars with a group of Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT). Under the new contract Motorola will participate in expanding the GSM Vinaphone network in South-East region of Primorye and southern Vietnam Center. This is the third within a year project to expand the network of Motorola GSM Vinaphone. The new contract will further enhance cooperation Motorola and VNPT, which began more than a decade ago.
To expand the network of GSM Vinaphone, a branch VNPT, Motorola will provide hardware, software and support services. The goal is to expand the network coverage in urban and rural areas of South-Eastern and Southern Primorsky Center of Viet Nam. Subscribers new network will be accessible high-quality voice and data, which is especially important in some rural areas have never been wireless. Equipment deliveries will begin in the 4 quarter of 2008
Motorola and Vinaphone signed the first contract to expand GSM Vinaphone network in major cities in Vietnam in November 2007, the second contract to expand network in 12 northern provinces was signed in June 2008, rapid development of the Vietnamese mobile network due to the growth of the economy and demand for communications services .
Currently, Vinaphone network covers 63 provinces and cities of Viet Nam. In addition, established connection with the mobile operators in over 60 countries and regions of the world.
