Taiwan market: RIM launches BlackBerry Storm in cooperation with Taiwan Mobile

RIM (Research in Motion) launched its touchscreen-enabled BlackBerry Storm in the Taiwan market in cooperation with 3G operator Taiwan Mobile on June 8.

The BlackBerry Storm carries a suggested retail price of NT$22,900 (US$696), but will be available for NT$8,990 to Taiwan Mobile subscribers, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

Meanwhile, RIM is also planning to introduce its AppWorld Internet software service into the Taiwan market, with a timetable to be set later, according to Norm Lo, vice president for Asia-Pacific at RIM.
