'Social Media Firm Appoints Seasoned CEO for Next Phase of Growth'
AUSTIN, Texas -- Varsity Media Group, Inc. (VMG) announced that John Andrews has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. Andrews will also be a member of VMG's Board of Directors.

His talents are especially timely as we assimilate and take advantage of our recent merger with the Wireless Grids Corporation."
Andrews' experience in the information technology industry spans more than 25 years. Before joining VMG, Andrews was President and CEO of privately held Evans Data Corporation, a leading market research firm which provides strategic advice to Google, IBM, Intel, Nokia, Microsoft, RIM , Adobe and other industry leaders. Prior to Evans, Andrews, as President and CEO of Giga Information Group, led its sale to Forrester Research. Andrews also successfully led technology startup eMedSoft.com into a publicly traded company. His fortune 500 experience includes CSX Corporation, where as its Chief Information Officer he led it to national prominence as one of the leading global technology organizations with CIO Magazine naming CSX as one of the top IT Performers three years in a row. Additionally, Andrews was nominated CIO of the year by Information Week and selected by Internet Week as a recipient of its Visionary Award. Prior to CSX, Andrews held a number of executive positions at former telecommunication giant GTE Corporation, now known as Verizon. During his tenure with GTE he served as President of several subsidiaries which were Global Health Systems, National Government Systems and Global Telecommunications Services.
Andrews is currently serving on the Board of Directors of several privately held companies and on the Customer Advisory Board of Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. Andrews holds a BA in Business Finance from Whitworth University and an MBA from University of Puget Sound.
