Content submission now open to all members of Developer World

Sony Ericsson’s content submission website is now fully open to all members of Developer World. It’s located at submit.sonyericsson.com and you can log in using your normal Developer World username and password. If you are not already a member of Developer World, you can click here to sign up immediately. There is no charge to become a member.

Submitted applications and games are intended for distribution via PlayNow™ arena, Sony Ericsson’s premium content channel, as well as to the established channel, Fun & Downloads. PlayNow arena offers a comprehensive “one stop shop” including music, movies and games. Applications were added to the mix in June 2009.

Java™ ME (Sony Ericsson JP-6 and later) and Symbian OS (S60 5th edition) applications and games are supported. Later this year, the submission process will be extended to cover additional mobile software platforms.

The submission procedure is designed to make it as simple and inexpensive as possible to get your content in to distribution:

any legal entity can submit content
no fee to submit
no annual fees
OK to submit unsigned applications (but must sign prior to distribution)
From submission to on-sale in no more than 30 days
70/30 net revenue share
“Within the first month of offering applications on PlayNow™ arena, making applications a healthy share of the downloads within our market channels,” says Christopher David, Head of Developer & Partner Engagement at Sony Ericsson. “From our consumers around the world, we experience a huge interest in applications that make communication an easier, more positive experience. Applications are a key area for us.”
