O2’s new product can port fixed line numbers to up to 10 mobiles

Fixed Number Anywhere will launch on 1 August and will be available through the indirect channel.

O2’s yet to be launched mobile convergence product will enable a fixed line to port to up to 10 mobile phones.

As previously reported by Mobile, O2 is set to make a move into the fixed/mobile convergence sector in August with the launch of a new product for SMEs.

It is understood ‘Fixed Number Anywhere’ will be officially announced next week. The new product will enable the porting of a multiple fixed line numbers to a mobile, or a fixed line number to multiple mobiles.

There are three main scenarios: The first is porting a local number to one mobile phone and is useful for the likes of a sales person who is always on the move. The second allows portability from one fixed line number to up to ten mobiles. The third allows up to five fixed line numbers to port to the same mobile – these can have multiple area codes.

The new product will be aimed at the SME market and will be sold through O2’s indirect channel.
