Cross Country Automotive Services Offers 'Green' Fuel Card Program to Improve the Environment, Help Roadside Assistance Service Providers Manage Fuel

MEDFORD, Mass., -- Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), the largest provider of driver and vehicle assistance services in North America, announced a new program for the members of its roadside assistance service provider network that supports environmental efforts and helps providers better control their fuel purchases, which are often their largest operating costs.

The new discount fuel fleet card program allows Cross Country's roadside assistance service providers to obtain Cross Country-branded credit cards from petroleum sales marketer 360FuelCard that can be used to purchase discounted gas and diesel fuel at more than 30,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. There are no monthly or annual fees, and service providers can obtain an unlimited number of fleet cards. The cards can be assigned to vehicles, drivers or both, in order to track usage and limit expenditures for Fuel Only, Fuel & Maintenance, or Fuel, Maintenance & Other Spending. Service providers can set pre-authorized spending limits per card, or limit them by day, week or month. The cards can require electronic driver identification and odometer entries to prevent unauthorized use.

The program benefits the environment, as 360FuelCard will donate 10 percent of all profits from card purchases to Carbonfund.org, a not-for-profit organization that provides carbon offsetting and greenhouse gas reduction options to individuals, businesses and organizations. Carbonfund.org supports specific projects focused on domestic and international renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation around the world. The carbon offset projects are third-party validated to the highest certification standards.

"In return for the immediate response and high quality service that we require from our network service providers, we continuously look for products and services that provide value and can help them to compete more efficiently in the market," said Charles Cavolina, Cross Country's senior vice president of service delivery. "Moreover, this is a 'green' option that benefits our environment that we are proud to support and is particularly unique, given that it is tied to fuel consumption."

"We are excited about our new partnership with Cross Country Automotive Services and its decision to offer the 360FuelCard," added Steve Fowler, 360FuelCard's vice president of business development. "Our program allows Cross Country to offer its qualified service providers one of the most advanced online fleet card products available, while enabling them to also demonstrate their support for improving the environment."
