Qisda July revenues up about 8% sequentially

Qisda has announced consolidated revenues of NT$7.47 billion (US$227.6 million) for July, up 8.3% from NT$6.89 billion for June, but down 18.09% from NT$9.12 billion for July 2008.

The sequential revenue growth in July is attributed primarily to increased shipments of major product lines.

Qisda also reported consolidated revenues of NT$45.16 billion for the January-July period, up 34.34% on year.

Qisda on July 30, 2009 received a notice concerning a lawsuit filed by Martin Prager in his capacity as insolvency administrator of BenQ Mobile GmbH, BenQ Mobile Management GmbH and BenQ Wireless GmbH, according to Qisda's filing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

Prager claimed against Qisda and BenQ Asia Pacific for damages of around Euro 264 million (US$379.05 million). Prager claimed that Qisda should return the purchase price paid by BenQ Mobile on behalf of Qisda to Siemens AG in 2005.

Qisda claimed that Prager must have misunderstood both the nature of transaction between Qisda and Siemens AG and the calculation of the price for the purchase of Siemen's mobile unit.
