China Telecom chairman Wang Xiaochu has said he is willing to visit Taiwan to build further cooperation with Taiwan-based companies in the 3G segment.
Wang made the remarks at the sidelines of the Electronics & Information Fair currently being held in Hangzhou, China, in which China Telecom and VIA Telecom are co-sponsoring a seminar on 3G CDMA technology.
VIA Telecom is considering setting up a CDMA technology development center in Hangzhou, according to Wang, who also added that VIA Telecom first CDMA CPE product co-developed with China Telecom will be an e-book reader.
China Telecom also plans to invest 10 billion yen (US$1.46 billion) to build a large-scale Internet data center in Hangzhou in the next five years, Wang revealed.
