DOCOMO, NEC, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Fujitsu completed the development of chipsets for mobile platform LTE

Four Japanese companies - DOCOMO, NEC, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Fujitsu have announced their success in developing mobile-terminal platform "LTE-PF", supporting the standard LTE (Long Term Evolution), which can provide the opportunity to download data at speeds up to 100 Mbps sec. (in the downlink and up to 50 Mbit / sec. - in reverse).

The first engineering samples of LTE-PF chipset are ready and allow to assess its capabilities. Make this the public will be on the stand NTT Group exhibition at the ITU Telecom World 2009, which will be held from 5 th at 9 th October in Geneva (Switzerland) or on a stand at the exhibition DOCOMO CEATEC JAPAN 2009 which will be held from 6 to 10 October at Makuhari Messe exhibition center in a suburb of Tokyo (Japan).

LTE-PF is the heart of the system, which includes also the management software signals a mobile processor and other main components of a mobile terminal. As expected in the companies, their technology platform will be licensed around the world and will be adopted as a common platform independent manufacturers of mobile phones and electronic components, eliminating their need to develop proprietary technology for basic functions. As a result, manufacturers will be able to produce cheaper products with a shorter period of their release to the market.
