Growth in sales of computers and other news from the report, Gartner

Analytical agency Gartner reports that for the third quarter of 2009, total shipments of computers worldwide (including notebooks and netbooks) totaled 80.9 million units, surpassing the same period last year to 0,5%. Moreover, that the agency predicted a 5.6% decline. Thus, the market of computer equipment for the first time this year has shown growth.

The leader of the industry remains the company Hewlett-Packard, which accounted for 19,9% set of computers and laptops, which represents more than 16 million units in quantitative terms. In second place was the company Acer, which has shown the highest growth in sales to one year (23.6%) and cost the company Dell, whose sales declined by 6,7%. In general, the first five largest suppliers are as follows:
1 st place: HP - 16.1 million units. - 19,9% (+9,0%)
2-nd place: Acer - 12,5 million units. - 15,4% (23.6%)
3rd place: Dell Inc. - 10,3 million units. - 12,8% (-6,7%)
4 th place: Lenovo - 6,9 million units. - 8,5% (15.8%)
5 th place: Toshiba - 4,0 million units. - 5% (10.8%)
The share of all other manufacturers was 38.3%, or about 31 million units.

Gartner also reports that the release of Windows 7 does not lead to a significant increase in sales, but will affect the overall picture in the third and fourth quarters of this year. This is associated with an increase in pre-orders to mark the launch of the new operating system. Some surge, experts say the agency will be observed in the pre-New Year period, but the greatest impact of Windows 7 will have on the market at the end of next year, when it begins to influence corporate orders.
