MegaFon: 700 base stations 3G in Moscow and the Moscow region before the end of the year

The end of 2009 the operator MegaFon plans to place in Moscow and Moscow region, 700 base stations of 3G. A corresponding agreement was reached with the supplier of equipment and other contractors of the project. This will allow the operator to the New Year holidays to ensure high-speed mobile Internet, hundreds of thousands of new users added. This year, MegaFon has invested in 3G project in the Moscow region of one billion rubles.

In the area of 3G network MegaFon subscribers can use the Internet services of high quality (depending on the type of subscriber device data is transmitted at a rate of 1 to 7.2 Mbps). Owners of mobile phones, modems, and other 3G-devices can access the Internet, make video calls, listen to music and watch video and work with e-mail. Business subscribers, companies and organizations, 3G technology allows to organize a high-speed remote access to corporate network for individuals and entire branches.

Today in Moscow MegaFon provides the signal for 3G business centers and hotels, malls and hypermarkets, stations, airports, a number of subway stations and other facilities frequented by Muscovites. In the Moscow region of the new network services available in the cities Balashikha, Krasnogorsk, Lyubertsy, Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, Pushkino, Solnechnogorsk, Khimki, Elektrostal on peri-urban areas and suburban areas of highways. At the end of November, in the range of the first segment of the new network on a daily basis is about 25% of residents and guests of the Moscow region. Total number of MegaFon subscribers in Moscow and Moscow region exceeds 7.3 million users.
