Huawei completed commercial testing of network 100G

Huawei has announced the successful completion of field trials data network 100G length of 1022 km without electrical regeneration, undertaken jointly with Telefónica in Spain between the cities of Valladolid and Zaragoza.

Transmission network is built on the transport platform OSN (Optical Subscriber Network - subscriber's optical network connection) 6800 WDM (Wave-Division Multiplexing - seal with the division of signals on the wavelength) / OTN (Optical Transport Network - optical transport network) manufactured by Huawei. During tests of the spectral transmission of the signal was carried out at a speed of 112 Gbit / s on the line, consisting of 20 spans G.652 fiber. For the entire length of the line set 10 sets of ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer - a configurable optical add / drop multiplexer), 33 amp EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier - optical amplifier for fiber, erbium-doped) and 2 sets of MUX / DEMUX (multiplexer / demultiplexer). For the tests we used 50 spectral channels, with the possibility of transmission 10G/40G/100G the channel. According to the company, its equipment can migrate to 10G channels 40G/100G channels without interruption of traffic, which opens up opportunities to service providers on the network as it develops.
