Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, unveiled the OptiX RTN 980 – the industry's first Nodal IP microwave product to integrate hybrid and pure packet microwave transmissions. Huawei also announced an upgraded version of its OptiX 900 series that provides a throughput of 1 Gb/s per frequency carrier.
The OptiX RTN 980 supports the aggregation of microwave transmission in 14 RF directions and can evolve to support aggregation of microwave transmission in 28 RF directions. The OptiX RTN 980 also supports TDM and packet cross-connections, enabling evolution from TDM to All-IP services. With a 22 Gbps packet cross-connection capacity, the OptiX RTN 980 also supports high density microwave deployment.
"Huawei's expertise in the fields of microwave, IP, and transmission provides a strong foundation for developing cutting-edge RF, All-IP evolution, and networking microwave solutions. The introduction of the OptiX RTN 980 and upgraded OptiX 900 demonstrates Huawei's leadership in providing end-to-end IP microwave solutions that help carriers strengthen their mobile broadband services," said Christian Chua, President of Network, Huawei.
The new OptiX RTN 900 series – which includes the OptiX RTN 910, OptiX RTN 950, and OptiX RTN 980 products – integrates advanced compression technology to increase throughput per frequency carrier from 400 Mbps to 1 Gbps. In addition, the upgraded series supports All-IP services evolution with multi protocol label switching (MPLS) technology.
A worldwide leader in the transmission field, Huawei provides unified carriers and intelligent transmission solutions to global operators integrating WDM/OTN, MSTP/Hybrid MSTP and microwave systems. According to the most recent statistics from SkyLight Financial Group, Huawei ranks in the top 3 global IP providers and first in the world in the global IP microwave market.
