MTS and OTEGlobe SA carried out a direct interconnection

Operator MTS and OTEGlobe SA, one of the key telecom operators in Greece and the Balkan region, have announced the implementation of the direct connection of their networks for the exchange of international traffic.

Direct connection was made between the MTS and OTEGlobe SA in the international telecommunications center Ancotel (Frankfurt, Germany). Under the agreement, the direct accession OTEGlobe will be able to terminate traffic within the MTS Group in all CIS countries, where companies operate the Unit. MTS, for its part, gets access to all international routes OTEGlobe SA, which include countries in South-Eastern and Central Europe, the Mediterranean and over 150 other international destinations, access to which allows the operator.

According to the director of MTS on interaction with the operator and roaming partner Evgeny Moskalev, this step also allows MTS to better serve its customers in the Balkan region. Cooperation with OTEGlobe will maintain a consistently high quality of services provided by MTS subscribers in roaming, in such popular tourist countries like Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Croatia and other countries in South-Eastern Europe.

Through collaboration with Ancotel, MTS now been arranged straight joints with TeliaSonera, Telecom Italia Sparkle, Tata Communications, Orange (France Telecom Group), Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica O2, iBASIS - KPN and others. Previously aired MTS international traffic through a network of national long-distance operators, which directly exchange voice traffic with foreign operators.
