MTS has GSM-frequencies in the Penza and Ulyanovsk Regions

Operator MTS has announced the victory in the competition on the distribution of frequency range 900 MHz to provide mobile services standard GSM (2G) in two regions of the Volga Federal District: Penza and Ulyanovsk regions. By obtaining a license to provide services in the 900 MHz band in the Penza region MTS completely cover all regions of Russia to cover the network standard, GSM.

The competition for obtaining licenses to provide GSM standard in the frequency range 900 MHz was held April 19, 2011 by decision of the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SCRF).

MTS has applied to bid on Feb. 28, 2011 for obtaining licenses for frequencies in the 900 MHz band to provide services of GSM standard in the territory of the Ulyanovsk region, as well as on the same frequency band in the Penza region.
