Orange RockCorps celebrated its biggest ever year last night with a host of world-class names performing an exclusive concert, including headliners Primal Scream, Kelis, Wretch 32, Eliza Doolittle, Professor Green and special guests Diddy Dirty Money, treating 11,000 volunteers to a money-can’t-buy performance at Wembley Arena.
After giving up their time to volunteer at projects in and around Greater London, 11,000 volunteers stormed the doors of Wembley Arena for the eagerly awaited concert. Crowds greeted the legendary Primal Scream with a roaring applause, as they opened the set with Moving On Up, before breaking into some of their biggest hits including Loaded, Country Girl and Rocks Off in an the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
Hoards of fans went crazy as special guests Diddy Dirty Money took to the stage in their only UK performance. The Diddy Dirty Money trio, comprising of Diddy together with singers and songwriters Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard, came out with a bang to Kaduki Drop, before making the floors jump with All About The Benjamins, Bad Boy For Life, I Need A Girl, No Money No Problems, I’ll Be Missing You and of course Coming Home. Diddy also had a very special surprise for the volunteers, inviting Chipmunk on stage to perform his smash hit ‘Champions’.
On being part of this year’s Orange RockCorps, Diddy Dirty Money commented: “We are happy to support Orange RockCorps. Rewarding people for their hard work in the community is a great chance to connect with great people, doing great things to enrich the lives of others”.
Other highlights came from New York megstar Kelis, who thrilled crowd with hits such as Milkshake and new hit 4th July, as well as Professor Greene, wowing the audience with his London-boy swagger, the fantastic grime MC Wretch 32 and Pack Up hitmaker Eliza Doolittle.
2011 has been an incredible year for Orange RockCorps. Now in its fourth year, the initiative has reached a number of significant milestones including 120,000 hours on community projects and has more than quadrupled its volunteer base since launch.
Stephen Greene, CEO and co-founder of RockCorps, commented: “What an amazing year – it’s great to see that so many people are giving something back to the community and getting involved in volunteer work. It’s wonderful to see an audience of 11,000 who have all taken part, making a difference to peoples lives and communities.”

This year’s programme has seen an inspirational series of four-hour projects set throughout Greater London. As part of the regeneration plans to showcase London on the world stage, 150 volunteer projects spanning 32 London boroughs took place, with volunteers earning their tickets to the concert at Wembley Arena.
Orange RockCorps has also continued to expand regionally this year through The Collective – the program that celebrates all volunteering activity and rewards members across the UK with fantastic music related prizes. Furthermore, by downloading the brand new Orange mobile phone application Do Some Good, people everywhere can do a good deed at a time and place that suits them using their mobile phone, building up points to become part of the Orange RockCorps Collective.
