Accenture and NTT DOCOMO to offer content providers a remote access service for smartphones
Accenture and Japanese mobile operator NTT DOCOMO announced today that at the end of March this year, will provide content providers for remote service DOCOMO self in the real world for content (including software), designed for smartphones.
Under the agreement, Accenture, will establish and operate a remote testing center at the University of Aizu in Fukushima Prefecture. Using the center, NTT DOCOMO will provide information about the devices, including the latest models, and the production network environment for operational software testing on the devices.
Currently, content providers need to independently acquire the device suitable for checking the content on the development stage for debugging purposes. But with the rapid introduction of a wide range of smartphones and tablet PCs (with different screen sizes, operating system version, etc.), development costs, including costs for the purchase of real devices, has become a burden for developers.
With the new service who intend to provide Accenture and DOCOMO, is expected to be provided with significant cost savings and contribute to the development of better content for smartphones, allowing faster and more efficient tools.
