Huawei Launches World’s First LTE TDD Multi-Mode Mobile WiFi Device
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider, launched the world’s first LTE TDD /FDD /UMTS/ GSM multi-mode Mobile WiFi device, the E589 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012.
The E589 allows up to 10 WiFi enabled devices to simultaneously have mobile internet access through the LTE TDD network. This allows several users to share the connection and enjoy LTE TDD data services at the same time.
The device is pocket sized and features a mirror design and high definition TFT (Thin Film Transistor) big screen. With a large capacity battery supporting 6 hours of continuous use, people can easily connect to the wireless broadband network anywhere, anytime.
Huawei is committed to driving the development of LTE TDD. Following the world’s first LTE TDD wireless broadband router B593, the industry’s first LTE TDD USB dongle E398 and the multi-mode E392, the E589 represents an industry milestone for LTE TDD.
CES is one of the year’s most important consumer electronics shows, attracting many manufacturers and 2700 exhibitors. Huawei’s E589 was released as part of an onsite meeting by industry body the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI), and the focus of the meeting was on the development of LTE TDD chipsets and terminal devices.
