iOS 5.1 hide undisclosed new beta versions of the system

Since last December, Apple released to developers a beta version of anticipated iOS 5.1, but since then, the new findings are very scarce. Does she want to change something so little in this new update? Unlikely, since the numbering indicates major changes. So what happens?

In fact, the iPhone Blog has obtained a version of "pre-GM" (final candidate) and can see that being prepared for more changes than those shown in the current beta versions.

One is access to the camera by the iPhone's locked screen device. Currently, to open the Camera application without having to unlock your phone, you must double-tap the Home button to display the button for the camera (see details of this in our book Secrets of iOS 5 ). This is impractical and yet many people do not notice that this functionality exists.

Fortunately iOS 5.1 Apple will change this, leaving a permanently active camera icon on the screen locked. To take a picture, just slide your finger up the icon, making the camera screen appears. Check out the screenshot:

It is another step on the way to make iOS more intuitive, using gestures to replace the buttons.

Another point that we saw was the proof of the inclusion of the Japanese language in the languages supported by Siri, as previously suspected . Unfortunately, we also make sure that there will be this time we will have support for Portuguese.

The fact that Apple is already testing a pre-GM system indicates that the release date for the general public should be close. It is believed that it is released together with the future iPad, at the beginning of March .

Among the changes that have been discovered in the beta, we are unable to use the direct link to the system functions and the option to turn off the 3G network on iPhone 4S .
