Huawei Showcases Digital Energy Solutions at the Offshore Technology Conference to Accelerate Informationization of Energy Enterprises

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today showcased its digital energy solution to the international audience for the first time at the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the world's largest and most influential petroleum exhibitions. At the show, Huawei's Enterprise Business Group will be exhibiting its comprehensive product portfolio for the energy sector and demonstrating how Huawei's converged ICT solutions with cutting-edge technologies provide "A Better Way" to meet the specific needs of energy enterprises across upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.

Digital energy -- production visualization, office collaboration, One Net one-stop solution
Leveraging its comprehensive portfolio covering IP network, unified communications and collaboration, security and data center, Huawei Enterprise has developed a series of innovative solutions and services to facilitate energy companies in areas including exploration, exploitation, transportation and management. The new "digital energy" solution consists of multiple sub-solutions, including digital oil field, intelligent pipeline, integrated office communications, offshore oil field converged communications and undersea fiber network, which can help customers build network communications infrastructure, remote production monitoring systems, data centers and production management and office application systems with high production security and enhanced efficiency.

The solution is also able to manage long-distance gas pipelines, ensuring the smooth operation of important functions, such as seamless communication, emergency dispatch and safety testing. Focusing on enhancing user experience and improving communication efficiency, the solution provides oil field-wide converged communication services, which integrate voice, video and data to support secure access of terminals at anytime and anywhere.

Huawei's leading digital energy solutions have been successfully deployed by Saudi Aramco. Adopting third-party interfaces based on the IMS architecture, the solution established the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) between different branches of Saudi Aramco, which enables efficient transmission and provision of voice, data, and conference services. Digital energy solutions are also being used in many other projects by large enterprises, including China Petroleum, China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Mexico Pemex, Petrobras and the Kazakhstan Section of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline.
