Q: What is the purpose of the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier?
A: The MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier is a way for mobile device manufacturers to
differentiate products that have undergone testing for MasterCard PayPass and received
a Letter of Approval. It also promotes to consumers that the device will be capable of
contactless payment transactions when enabled with a MasterCard PayPass account.
Q: What does the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier look like?
A: The MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier is a combined mark, which includes the
MasterCard brand mark in a precise lockup with the “PayPass” logotype and “Ready”
type. The identifier is available in English only and in PNG, GIF and EPS file formats. The
identifier is provided in full color, grayscale and solid versions as shown below.

Wherever possible, the full color version must be used in print or on-screen. If there are
technical limitations prohibiting the use of the full color version, the grayscale version
may be used. When neither the full color nor grayscale version can be used due to
limited reproduction capabilities, the solid version may be used.
Q: In what markets can the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier be used?
A: The MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier can be used worldwide and is not restricted for
use in specific markets. Qualification for use is on a per device basis after the device
meets MasterCard testing requirements.
Q: Where can the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier be used?
A: The identifier can be printed on the device packaging, collateral or attached to the
device as a removable sticker.  Permanent stamping of the identifier onto the device is
not allowed.
In addition, the PayPass Ready identifier can be used on a website or in an
advertisement where the MasterCard-approved product is being demonstrated. The MasterCard

Q: How do I enroll to use the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier?
A: To start using the MasterCard PayPass Ready identifier, you will need to sign the MasterCard
PayPass Ready License & Testing Agreement, which you can request by sending an email to
mobilepartner@mastercard.com. Upon signing the license you will receive access to the
MasterCard PayPass Ready documentation and the MasterCard PayPass Ready Identifier
Guidelines.  However, use of the identifier is subject to conditions outlined in the MasterCard
PayPass Ready License & Testing Agreement, including the requirement that the identifier only
be used in connection with a MasterCard-approved device.
