Most Taiwan handset component makers have reported strong revenues growth in August due to seasonal factors, and the makers also expect sales momentum to continue in September.
Ichia Technologies (keypads and flexible PCBs) saw its consolidated revenues hit a new high of NT$828 million (US$26 million) in August, up 5.1% from the previous high of NT$788 million recorded in July.
The growth of flexible PCBs was stronger than that of keypads in August, with flexible PCB revenues topping NT$485 million and keypad revenues totaling NT$343 million, the company said.
Utilization rate for flexible PCBs rebounded to 80% in August, which will work to push up overall profitability, noted the company.
Merry Electronics (headsets) said that sales of its three product lines – hands-free headsets, speakers and Bluetooth headsets – all grew steadily in August, pushing monthly revenues to the highest level of this year, at NT$853 million.
Silitech (keypads) saw its revenues jump 19.1% sequentially to NT$816 million in August amid rising shipments of new keypads for handsets launched by branded vendors.
