Seagate introduced its first solid-state drive Pulsar

Seagate has introduced the drive Seagate Pulsar, its first product in a new family of solid-state drives for enterprise. Pulsar solid state drive capacity of up to 200 GB form factor 2.5-inch SATA drive has been created specifically for blade servers and general purpose, it uses a technology called single-level cell (SLC).

Solid-state drive Pulsar provides the necessary performance, reliability and durability required for blade servers and general purpose. Peak performance is 30 000 IOPS in read IOPS and 25 000 in the recording mode, and the speed reaches 240 MB / sec for sequential read and 200 MB / sec for sequential write. SLC technology improves reliability and durability and helps to reach the target of 0,44% AFR at 5-year limited warranty. As an additional safety net, drive Pulsar uses the experience in the development of Seagate storage solutions enterprise-class, providing data protection in case of failure of power supply. Solid-state drive Seaagte Pulsar is available to qualify for OEM-partners.
