TPO Displays has been one of the two OLED panel makers for Nokia since TPO started producing OLED panels at the end of 2008, according to market sources.
Nokia, optimistic about OLED applications in the handset market, has used a 2.6-inch AMOLED panel in its N85 handset, and the vendor plans to introduce several OLED handsets in 2009, the sources noted.
Samsung Electronics also plans to launch several high-end handsets using OLED panels this year, while Samsung Mobile Display (SMD) is the other OLED panel maker for Nokia, the sources added.
