Ralink Technology and Richtek Technology have both announced revenue growth for May 2009. Ralink's May revenues grew 15% sequentially to NT$408 million (US$12.5 million), while Richtek has reported NT$659 million, up 7.5% from April, despite many other IC design houses in Taiwan seeing sales decline. The companies expect to see another sequential sales growth in June.
Ralink estimated its second-quarter gross margin may be lower than the earlier expectation of 38% due to fierce price competition for WLAN chips worldwide.
Richtek said it expects to meet its target of 54-70% revenue growth in the second quarter.
