Samsung introduced a color e-ink display with video

Company Samsung Electronics demonstrated at SID Display Week 2009 a prototype 10.2-inch display based on the technology of electronic paper. But, unlike most of these solutions already on the market, the new display Samsung - color. In addition, it can show more than just a static image, as the majority of e-paper, but also video. The display resolution is 320x240 pixels, it can display up to 64 colors. Its reflectance is 10% or higher, and response time - up to 25 ms.

Strictly speaking, the Samsung phone is not the e-paper in its pure form: it combines the technology of electronic paper and LCD. The first is used to display static images, and the second - for the video. According to the Samsung, for image storage is used so-called "regime", while for the video - "dynamic." How, when, on the basis of this prototype will be a commercial product, the company has not yet been reported.
