Handy Backup for Android

Introduced in 2007 by Google and the Open Handset Alliance, Android is quickly becoming one of the most powerful operating systems for mobile devices in the world. By making Handy Backup compatible with Android, we surpassed the limits of a PC backup solution – now you can back up data of Android-powered devices as easily as common files and folders of your PC!

Handy Backup for Android

Not long ago we have released a complete, standalone version of Handy Backup for Android platform. It allows backing up your phone's contacts, call logs, SMS messages and SD card data through a simple user-friendly interface. Contacts are saved in VCard format and can be later imported to Outlook or other messaging software. The utility is free and can be downloaded directly to your phone via the QR code above. Also, you can search Android market for "Handy Backup for Android".

Backup Android Phone to PC

In early spring of 2009 we released the first beta, which was a "client" software that allowed PC version of Handy Backup to back up data of Android-driven phones. It worked on a client-server scheme, with all backup tasks set up and scheduled via PC.

Since the very beginning, user feedback showed a strong demand for a standalone Android backup tool, and we immediately started working to come up with a solution. The old version was discontinued (some users may still find information about backing up Android devices in old help files).

We welcome you to try the most current version of Handy Backup for Android!

At the first sight, it may seem like a very simple tool. But beyond the surface there is powerful Handy Backup's architecture that brought the application its fame. It enables us (as developers) to easily add support for new types of data (similarly to Handy Backup's plug-in scheme), as well as data processing and storage options.

At the moment, we are finishing a module that will allow users to back up data to FTP servers. Handy Backup's architecture makes creation of such modules relatively easy and fast task!

Below is the list of other features related to Android backup that we are going to create in the nearest future:

* Absolutely automatic backup. You will be able to schedule your Android backup tasks to take place automatically, for example each evening at midnight. To back up Android data to PC you will only need to make them see each other in the network.

* Backup compression and encryption. If your phone's memory card contains data that takes a lot of space, or that you want to limit access to, you'll be able to enable ZIP backup compression or backup encryption.

* Backup restoration options. At present, restoration procedure deletes all new contacts that appeared since the backup.
