Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, was recently selected by Mediacom Communications, one of the nation's largest cable television companies and the leading cable operator focused on serving the smaller cities and towns in the United States, to deploy Next-Generation Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (NG-DWDM) transport across over 4000km of Mediacom' s backbone network through the states of Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota.
Under the agreement, Huawei will provide Mediacom with its OSN6800A NG-WDM platform utilizing the latest in optical technologies with multi-degree ROADM, tunable optics, and OTN cross-connects. The network solution will support 10/40G and future 100G wavelengths to competitively deliver advanced, high bandwidth services today and well into the future.
