MTS launched its first site the main line of Voronezh-Saratov

Operator MTS said the launch of the first section of the fiber-optic line Voronezh-Saratov in the development of backbone networks in Central and Volga Federal Districts.

According to the operator, commissioning link Voronezh-Saratov MTS will arrange additional ring redundancy of its backbone network route Voronezh - Saratov - Volgograd - Rostov-on-Don - Voronezh and Voronezh - Tambov - Penza - Ulyanovsk - Samara - Saratov - Voronezh . This will improve the quality and reliability of data transmission network in several regions of Central, Volga and Southern Federal Districts.

Currently, MTS completed the construction of communication lines Voronezh Borisoglebsk. This will run in Borisoglebsk 3G network technology based HSPA (High Speed ​​Packet Access), providing data rates up to 14.4 Mbps.

The length of the fiber-optic communication lines (including the backbone) of the MTS Group has more than 100 thousand km with a capacity of up to 400 Gbit / s, which satisfies the current needs of the operator. The transition to technology DWDM, which allows simultaneous transmission of multiple information channels on a single optical fiber, allows MTS to significantly increase the capacity of its backbone network. Long-term strategic goal of the company - to increase its market share of main channels and IP-transit to 20%, of which 10% will be for internal consumption
