Samsung to build a new production line to produce 300-mm silicon wafers


The South Korean company Samsung Electronics announced its plans to build a new production line in Hwaseong (South Korea) to produce 300-mm silicon wafers to meet the growing demand for semiconductor devices.

The company intends to invest in the construction of about 2.25 trillion South Korean Won (~ $ 2 billion) and run a line to the end of 2013. In this line, Samsung is going to make advanced mobile processors, manufactured using 20-nm and 14 nm processes.
