Huawei launches world's first feature ANR in commercial LTE network

Huawei has announced the commercial launch of its functions Automatic Neighbor Relation (ANR) in the LTE network in Cologne, the fourth largest city in Germany. Function of ANR, as the company claims, allows you to manage the interaction between adjacent honeycombs, increase the efficiency of network operation and maintenance, and reduce operating costs.

LTE network in Cologne was built by Huawei and officially put into commercial operation in April 2011. In October 2011, Huawei began testing ANR function for the network LTE, including a mechanism for recognition and automatic addition and removal of adjacent cells. To date, ANR function successfully in commercial operation within three months. It allows for automatic control and optimization of the interconnection of adjacent honeycomb without human intervention. Ratio of successful transmission service for the stability of the network is 99%.

The company notes that the traditional GSM and UMTS networks management and optimization of the interaction between neighbor cells is carried out manually, which leads to a significant increase in operating costs and maintenance. As part of the solution of Huawei SingleSON, ANR feature automatically manages and optimizes the relationship between adjacent honeycombs in multilevel networks that support multiple modes. This allows not only to improve the efficiency of network deployment, but also reduce the effort required to maintain its performance.

During the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Huawei promises to present the latest addition to SingleSON, which supports multi-mode function of ANR.
