Motorola officially introduced to China a new secure Motorola XT535 DEFY

The Asus Padfone could retail for the eye-watering price of £700 here in the UK, retailer Flagship Fones has revealed.

The British retailer has began taking pre-orders for the bizarre 3-in-1 device, in turn revealing its whopping £699.98 price-tag. However – the store does add that the “official release date and pricing is to be confirmed”, suggesting the details may not have arrived directly from Asus.

As as device that combines a smartphone, tablet and netbook – we’re not expecting the device to be cheap, but a £700 price-tag will no doubt put off a number of potential Padfone buyers.

Still, if legit, what will you be getting for your £700? The device – officially announced at MWC - combines a 4.3-inch Android phone and a 10.1-inch tablet, which can also be transformed into a netbook thanks to the included keyboard. On the spec-front, the Asus Padfone also features; Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a nippy 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA webcam, 1080p HD video, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity and a 1520mAh battery.
