First HTC Windows Phone 8X Video and Image Samples Surface

The camera on the HTC Windows Phone 8X, according to the manufacturer, is one of eight-megapixels and features a backside illuminated sensor, f/2.0 at 28mm, and has a dedicated image chip to help with image processing. All of these should play nicely together in generating great images.

Until we can lay our hands on the phone and check for ourselves (and definitely compare to the Nokia Lumia 920), we’re left with images taken by others. Below are just two of what appear the be the first images (and a video) captured by the HTC Windows Phone 8X. You can check out more (and larger versions) by following the gallery link below. The pictures are not very telling but judging by what we see they surely look nice. As far as the video is concerned, it looks like it could need a little bit of image stabilization, something which could turn into a reason to go with the Lumia 920. However, let’s wait for the phone to land in our labs; until then, check out the samples and let us know of your thoughts.
