Taiwan handset makers Inventec Appliances, Compal Communications and Arima Communications have all posted strong sales in November, thanks to increasing shipments to major clients including Palm, LG Electronics (LGE) and Apple, according to reports of the Chinese-language Commercial Times.
Compal's November revenues of NT$2.57 billion (US$79.57 million) were the company's highest level for this year. The paper said Compal's sales were buoyed by orders from Palm.
Arima shipped 1.03 million handsets in November, pushing consolidated revenues to NT$1.17 billion in November, up 7.3% from the previous month. Shipments to LGE accounted for nearly 80% of Arima's total handset shipments in November, offsetting the impact of declining orders from Sony Ericsson, the paper noted.
Inventec saw revenues increase 40% on month and 173.6% on year to NT$8.42 billion in November. The paper said the company's sales were driven by shipments of iPod and iPod Touch to Apple and smartphones to Acer, as well as increasing shipments of GPS devices.
