With over fourteen years in the wireless telecommunications industry, Lanier comes to Verizon as a result of the recent merger with Alltel. In her new role, Lanier will oversee all Verizon Wireless operations in national retail outlets such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy and BJs throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Lanier is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is actively involved in Raleigh, NC where she will reside. She works with the triangle chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Alzheimer’s Awareness.org based in eastern North Carolina and the SPCA of Wake County. In 2008, the Business Leader Magazine of the Triangle recognized Lanier as a “Mover and Shaker,” and Southwest Airlines named Lanier the 2005 “Woman of the Year.”
