Samsung Galaxy Note UK release date confirmed

Samsung has confirmed the official UK release date for its Galaxy Note smartphone, which will see it hitting Blighty on November 17.

Announced at September’s IFA conference, the Galaxy Note is one-half smartphone, one-half tablet, touting a mammoth 5.3-inch (1280 x 800) Super AMOLED screen. Much like the larger-screened HTC Flyer, this display arrives equipped with support for Sammy’s S Pen, a unique modern twist on the otherwise-dated stylus.

That’s not all worth getting excited about. The handset also arrives equipped with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2 megapixel front-facing shooter, a meaty 2,500 mAh battery, and either 16GB or 32GB storage.

Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “We’re delighted with the overwhelming reception the Galaxy Note has received since it was announced earlier this month and are looking forward to offering Samsung customers a whole new smartphone experience.”

“The Galaxy Note is a great example of Samsung’s passion for innovation by bringing to market a brand new category of mobile products. It is our fastest handset to date and brings together all the benefits of our award-winning smartphone technology and services.”

The handset’s currently available to pre-order in Blighty, but it’ll cost you a hefty £600 SIM free.
