Samsung announced its financial results for 2nd quarter 2012

The South Korean company Samsung Electronics introduced the reports on the results of its operations for the second fiscal quarter 2012 (ended for the company June 30, 2012), which was shown an operating profit of 6.72 trillion South Korean Won (~ $ 5.9 billion) in consolidated revenue in the level of 47.6 trillion Korean Won (~ $ 41.7 billion), up 21% compared to last year's figures.

One of the main "culprits" of such high performance for Samsung in general, has a mobile division, whose income for the quarter amounted to 20.52 trillion Korean Won (~ $ 17 billion), thus showing the 75-percent increase over the same period last year. The company attributes this to the successful sales start of its new flagship smartphone GALAXY S III, as well as the optimistic sales GALAXY Note.
