SPB Software, an application software developer for the Windows Mobile platform, has decided to venture into development for Symbian and Android, according to company CEO Sebastian-Justus Schmidt.
Comprehensive application solutions supporting both Symbian and Android will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010 to be held in Barcelona from February 15-18, Schmidt noted.
SPB has been cooperating with Samsung Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Toshiba and a number of Taiwan-based handset makers, including Acer, Asustek Computer, Inventec, Giga Communications, HTC (High Tech Computer) and Mitac International.
SPB has also signed an agreement with MediaTek for the joint development of platform products for smartphones, Schmidt said, without elaborating.
