T-Mobile to Bring “Marvel’s The Avengers” to the Samsung Galaxy S® III

“Marvel’s The Avengers,” the No. 1 Movie of the Year, Will be Virtually Preloaded on All New and Existing T-Mobile Galaxy S III Smartphones Starting Sept. 25th

T-Mobile USA, Inc., the No. 1 mobile operator brand in Samsung Galaxy S® sales, and Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC (Samsung Mobile),1 announced new and enhanced features which will be added to all Samsung Galaxy S®III smartphones at T-Mobile®.

Expanding on the already robust entertainment and sharing features of the top-selling Galaxy S III, new and existing owners of the smartphone will receive “Marvel’s The Avengers” – the no. 1 movie of the year and 3rd biggest release of all time – as a virtual preload, available for download in the Samsung Media Hub, only at T-Mobile. In addition, T-Mobile customers will have the ability to wirelessly share licensed content, such as movies and TV shows, to a compatible TV via the AllShare Cast feature and AllShare Cast Wireless Hub. Paired with T-Mobile’s new Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan, the new features make it easy for customers to stream or download unlimited video content, including their favorite movies and TV shows, without having to worry about data caps, speed limits or overages.

With today’s on-the-go lifestyle, an overwhelming majority (91 percent) of smartphone owners are using their devices for entertainment purposes for a wide variety of content – from YouTube clips and user-generated videos to feature films, games, music and more. In fact, a recent T-Mobile survey2found this trend to be on the rise and more than one in 10 (11 percent) surveyed smartphone users rely on their smartphones so much for entertainment that they watch more video content on their devices than on their TVs.

“T-Mobile is committed to bringing leading-edge smartphone experiences to our customers by offering new features, including exciting content such as ‘Marvel’s The Avengers,’” said Brad Duea, senior vice president, product management, T-Mobile USA. “Whether our customers choose to stream or download content directly to their devices or share it to the big screen, as the only nationwide 4G network that offers an unlimited 4G data plan, T-Mobile is making it easier than ever to unleash all that the Galaxy S III has to offer.”

The third most-popular movie of all time, “Marvel’s The Avengers,” will be virtually pre-loaded on all T-Mobile Galaxy S III smartphones with this exclusive offer. The movie will be available in HD quality beginning Sept. 25 — the same day “Marvel’s The Avengers” becomes available on Blu-ray 3D, Blue-ray, DVD, digital and on-demand across the nation. T-Mobile customers can download “Marvel’s The Avengers” movie by visiting Samsung Media Hub on their Galaxy S III.3

“We are excited to partner with T-Mobile on this groundbreaking promotion and provide the highest-quality film experience for ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ to Galaxy S III smartphone owners,” commented Dan Cohen, executive vice president, pay television and digital, Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

In addition, with a recent software update, Galaxy S III owners will be able to share licensed content, including TV shows and movies from Samsung Media Hub, wirelessly with AllShare Cast to any HDMI-capable TV with the addition of a new accessory, the Samsung AllShare Cast Wireless Hub.  The AllShare Cast Hub accessory will cost $99.99 and will be available via http://www.T-Mobile.com and in T-Mobile retail stores beginning Sept. 24.

To showcase the new features of the Galaxy S III, as well as T-Mobile’s full suite of Samsung Galaxy S devices, T-Mobile will introduce the Samsung Galaxy Zone in stores around the country this fall. The new interactive fixture will be rolled out in hundreds of locations and will provide an exclusive, enhanced retail experience for T-Mobile customers. The Galaxy Zone offers customers the opportunity to demo a Samsung device while using two television screens to visually supplement demonstrated device activity, such as AllShare Play, bringing to life the amazing experiences these devices offer.

SAMSUNG Mobile Introducing Galaxy Note® II in Time for the Holidays with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular

Redesigned S Pen and apps, sharing capabilities and quad-core Exynos™ processor enhances productivity, creativity and performance

Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC (Samsung Mobile) – the No.1 mobile phone provider in the United States1 – will launch the Galaxy Note® II in the U.S. with five major carriers by mid-November. Exact pricing and retail availability will be announced by each of the carriers.

Optimized for the fastest 4G LTE* and HSPA+ 42 networks, the Galaxy Note II combines some of the best capabilities of the Galaxy S® III with an enhanced S Pen and new S Pen apps, the processing power to multitask like a PC, with a larger screen yet in a thinner, lighter form factor. The Galaxy Note II enables consumers that want a larger format device to create, collaborate and now share original content faster and easier than before.

“The original Galaxy Note® created a new category of smartphones by combining the best of a smartphone with the best of a tablet. In less than a year, Samsung sold more than 10 million globally demonstrating the category is taking hold,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Telecommunications America. “The new Galaxy Note II is a significant leap forward for the category.”

Power & Performance
Galaxy Note II marks the U.S. debut of Samsung’s Exynos™ 1.6 GHz quad-core processor optimized for LTE networks. It has 2GB of internal RAM; and comes with 16 GB of onboard file storage and supports up to 64GB of additional memory with a microSD® card. Collectively, these deliver easy multitasking, lightning fast screen transitions, powerful browser performance and minimal app load time.

The Galaxy Note II is the first Samsung smartphone to launch with Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean, which brings stunning graphical capabilities and an upgraded Google Now service, including new features such as contextual search. It is also a SAFE-designated device, which means it has additional security features to safe-guard sensitive data and communications.

The Galaxy Note II has a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED™ touchscreen with 16:9 aspect ratio, the standard for true HD video viewing, and comes with a 3,100 mAh battery, which is 24 percent larger than the original Galaxy Note.

Despite the much larger battery, the device weighs slightly less than the original Galaxy Note. As a result of a narrower bezel on all four sides of the screen, the screen is larger but the overall device is narrower. The Galaxy Note II is available in Marble White and Titanium Gray color options.

Create & Collaborate
At the heart of the Galaxy Note II and the ability to create and collaborate is the S Pen™, which has been ergonomically redesigned to provide a more precise and natural writing and drawing experience. The new S Pen can sense 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, four times more than the original S Pen.

When the new S Pen is removed from the Galaxy Note II, it automatically launches the S Pen menu, which opens a new home screen that allows one-touch access to most used S-Pen applications. Keeping track of the S Pen is simple now too because a visual and audible alarm appears if the user forgets to put the S Pen back inside the device.

The S Pen’s advanced features provide the ability to capture ideas, inspiration and information instantly, and to combine handwriting with any digital content directly on the screen, such as adding new calendar appointments by writing the event details directly on the day of the week, signing or adding handwritten notes to an email.

Selecting and cropping text, images or other content on the Galaxy Note II with the S Pen is very similar to a traditional “click-mouse” experience. When the S Pen’s side button is pressed down, the S Pen recognizes that users want to clip or edit the selected content on the screen. Users can draw precise lines around the content to be cropped out, highlighted or copied into another application.

Key applications of the S Pen include:

Easy Clip feature allows users to instantly outline and crop any content on the screen in any shape to save, share or paste. Once done cropping the image, users can freely edit the cropped content through coloring, shading, or their own personal handwriting.
Air View allows users to hover with the S Pen over an email, calendar entry, image gallery or video to preview the content without having to open it or wait for screen transitions. This feature also enables users to preview Web site content without opening the full site. Air View provides a title description for unrecognizable icons in various applications.
Quick Command uses the S Pen to quickly activate applications and services people use most often. The command pad appears with one upward swipe on the screen with the S Pen button pressed down. Users can send an email, make a call or search a location with pre-registered and customized S Pen stroke marks made on the command pad.
Idea Sketch allows users to easily add illustrations by handwriting keywords on the S Note. It provides illustration images that match the handwritten keywords. It’s a fancy illustration match function that will allow users to express, organize and visualize ideas in a more innovative and creative way. Users can even customize and add in their own illustrations library.
Photo Notes allows users to create handwritten notes on the back of digital photos.

Multitask & Share
The Galaxy Note II takes multitasking to the next level by enabling consumers to launch multiple windows on one screen, including high definition video. Multitasking features include:

Popup Note lets users open an S Note instantly as a pop-up window to jot down a quick note during a phone call, checking email or watching a video.
Popup Video extends the concept of ‘Popup Play.’ While watching a video, with the touch of a button, the video will become a floating window on the display. The video will continue to play and it can be re-sized or repositioned to any part of the GALAXY Note II’s screen. This versatility means that users are free to load other applications beneath it to browse online or work in other apps such as email, calendar or text messaging.
Popup Browser launches a new browser window when a user clicks on a link embedded in an email.

The Galaxy Note II contains many of the popular, real-life content sharing features introduced in June on the Samsung Galaxy S™ III including:

S Beam – Tap back of Galaxy Note II against another S-Beam-enabled device to share large video files, documents or S Notes in seconds without using data service.
Share Shot - Seamlessly share pictures taken with Galaxy Note II’s 8 megapixel camera to other phones from up to 200 feet away.
Burst Shot/Best Shot – Capture rapid-fire still pictures with zero shutter lag; choose picture with optimal colors, lighting and clarity from Best Shot image recommendations.
AllShare Cast™ and GroupCast™ have been expanded on the Galaxy Note II. Share premium video content, mobile games and movies and TV shows from Samsung Media Hub wirelessly with Samsung Smart TVs, laptops, tablets and other consumer electronics.

Customize & Accessorize

Protective Flip Cover – Samsung’s unique flip cover enhances the look of the Galaxy Note II with a premium leather front and glossy backing, while providing privacy and protection. The Protective Flip Cover comes in seven vibrant colors to customize the Galaxy Note II, including Titanium Gray, Marble White, Blue, Pink, Mint, Lime Green, and Orange.
S Pen with Eraser – This ergonomic, full-featured S Pen features a button for gestures and an eraser tip for easy corrections. This updated version of Samsung’s original S Pen truly mimics the feel of a pen or pencil.

HTC One X + will receive a Tegra processor 3 with 1.7 GHz

The North American operator will receive an enhanced version of the smartphone HTC One X. The database already has a record of the HTC Era 42, which will be released as HTC One X +. The difference between the smartphone would be to use a different chipset - Nvidia Tegra 3 +. A more productive platform saves quad-core, but the CPU frequency is 1.7 GHz, 1.5 GHz against the standard, and 25% will be higher than the performance of the built-in video chipset. In the U.S. model will be released in September, and the question of the presence of an international version of the update HTC One X + is still open.

So, About That HTC Era 42…It’s The HTC One X+ For T-Mobile

Update: We’ve just been dropped a line from Taylor of Androidandme fame telling us that the “plus” sign relates to the Tegra 3 plus, meaning this One X for T-Mobile will have a 1.7GHz processor. How about them apples?

There are times when I’m glad to be wrong, and it’s not that I’m actually wrong in hypothesizing that the HTC Era 42 could have turned out to be the G3 for T-Mobile, there were some hints along the way to help get me there. Instead, I’m happy to say that we’ve been able to confirm with at least a small level of certainty that the HTC Era 42 is in fact the HTC One X+ for T-Mobile.

So, about that “plus” sign after the X — yeah, I have no idea what that means. Perhaps it’s just a way to differentiate the device name from AT&T, or perhaps it has something to do with HSPA+, we truly don’t know. What we do know is that all the stars are aligning for the HTC One X to launch on T-Mobile, a rumor we almost entirely forgot about.

Thankfully, hose rumors from late February are now being proven right, some five months later as the HTC One X+ is destined for T-Mobile in September. Get your wallets ready.

Samsung Galaxy S III Coming To Five Major Carriers Beginning in June

In an industry first, Samsung delivers the same iconic smartphone design and premium content sharing experience with customized AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular services starting from $199

DALLAS - June 4, 2012 - U.S. consumers on five major service providers will now be able to own the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S® III. Galaxy S III, optimized for peak performance on the nation's fastest 4G LTE and HSPA+ 42 networks, will be launching with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular starting in June. Exact pricing and retail availability will be announced by each of the five carriers in the coming weeks.

"The U.S. launch of the Galaxy S III is the most anticipated launch of the year. As promised, we are delivering the 'next big thing' for U.S. customers and across all major carriers," said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Telecommunications America. "Galaxy S III introduces new technological innovation and takes sharing to the next level."

With the Galaxy S III, Samsung is setting a new standard for smartphones. This device was designed to be lightweight, durable and powerful. The Galaxy S III weighs 4.7 ounces and is 8.6 millimeters thin, making it lighter and sleeker than other leading smartphones, including several competitor models with smaller displays. The brilliant 4.8 inch display extends to an ultra-thin bezel to maximize the viewing area. The Galaxy S III delivers impressive processing power to allow more applications to be accessible simultaneously.

The Galaxy S III goes far beyond content consumption to content sharing. Continuing its history of innovation, Samsung has simplified how consumers share content and control the device with a single touch, through enhanced gesture technology or the simple movement of the eyes.

Sharing Made Simple

The content sharing experience on the Galaxy S III addresses the sharing needs of consumers, whether it's sharing and editing a presentation with a large group in real-time, sending digital images to several other smartphones at the same time or transferring large files within seconds from one phone to another. Further, these sharing experiences are simple and require little, if any, set-up.

Sharing With Multiple Devices

- The Galaxy S III introduces the next evolution of Samsung's content sharing service with AllShare® Play. This service automatically notifies the Galaxy S III to Samsung HDTVs, mobile tablets, laptops and other consumer electronic devices on the same network that are ready to receive video files. Users can also remotely access files from devices on other networks.

Sharing with Groups

- With AllShare Group Cast on the Galaxy S III and a Wi-Fi network, users can share and collaborate on documents, presentations or images in real-time with multiple friends or co-workers' without loading the file separately.

- With Share Shot, become the official photographer for a group of friends. There's no need to send photos and video via email, MMS or a USB drive. Users can quickly and seamlessly share pictures taken with the Galaxy S III's 8 megapixel camera to other phones from up to 200 feet away. Once the Galaxy S III is synched with chosen devices, the pictures are automatically shared.

Sharing Smartphone to Smartphone

- S-Beam is an industry first, providing fast, easy transfer of large files, such as videos and documents, with a single touch of the Galaxy S III without needing a Wi-Fi connection or cell signal. A 1GB movie file can be shared as quickly as three minutes and a 10MB music file can be transferred in seconds by simply touching another GALAXY S III phone.

Smartphone Simplicity

- The S-Voice™ feature on the Galaxy S III offers much more than just asking and answering questions. S-Voice allows users to control the applications and services used most with words instead of touch. Use S-Voice to turn the volume up or down on the music player, answer or reject incoming calls, shut off or choose to snooze the alarm clock, or take a picture by saying "smile" or "cheese."

- Smart Stay puts the "smart" in smartphones. With Smart Stay, the Galaxy S III tracks the user's eye to ensure the device screen is always on while you're looking at it. By knowing when you are looking at the screen, it doesn't dim the backlight or timeout to an idle screen.

- Motion simplifies and short cuts many common functions including converting a text message to a call by simply raising the phone to the ear, tapping the top of the phone to go to the top of an email and list of emails or contacts, and alerting to missed call or text message.

- The capabilities of the Galaxy S III's 8 megapixel camera are far beyond point and shoot. Burst Shot captures still pictures at a rapid-fire pace at three images per second with zero shutter lag; and Best Shot recommends the best picture to keep based on colors, lighting and clarity. The Galaxy S III shoots and plays back 1080p HD quality video with a backside illuminated sensor that improves performance in low light environments, and provides the ability to capture a photo during videoing

- Watching video while downloading a large file or service is seamless with Pop Up Play. Pop Up Play allows you to watch any side-loaded video content while operating any application in full-screen, background view at the same time. Video running on Pop Up Play can be moved anywhere on top of the full screen, much like picture-in-picture capabilities on large screen TVs.

Powerful Performance

The Galaxy S III includes Android™ 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with TouchWiz enhancements, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz dual core CPU and 2GB of internal RAM to provide high-speed performance enabling efficient and seamless multi-tasking. The dual-core processor offers competitive speeds and performance as leading quad-core processors without sacrificing valuable battery life. The brilliant 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED™ touchscreen display brings content to life, without compromising the device's true pocketability. The expansive display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2.0 to guard against cracks and scratches and provide enhanced touchscreen responsiveness.

The Galaxy S III, which comes in Marble White and Pebble Blue, is powered by a removable 2100 mAh battery for extended use on a single charge. Users can store large libraries of photos, videos and music onboard the Galaxy S III with expandable memory to compliment the standard 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage.

"The Galaxy S III is the most innovative smartphone on the market today. It is an industry first to see five major carriers align behind the launch of a single device virtually simultaneously," said Todd Pendleton, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Telecommunications America. "To support the immense excitement for the Galaxy S III we will execute our biggest marketing campaign ever. Consumers won't be able to miss why this device is the must-have smartphone."

Ericsson selected by T-Mobile USA for LTE and network transformation

T-Mobile USA first North American contract for Ericsson's Antenna Integrated Radio (AIR) solution
Ericsson to deploy LTE in key T-Mobile USA markets with Release 10 capable hardware
Ericsson to transform GSM, WCDMA and HSPA+ sites and to perform consulting and system integration and rollout services
Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) announced it has been selected by T-Mobile USA to support the company's USD4 billion network transformation, which includes preparatory work for the launch of LTE in 2013.

T-Mobile USA will be the first carrier in North America to deploy Ericsson's AIR technology, enabling the carrier to improve existing coverage and quickly launch LTE. T-Mobile USA selected the AIR solution due to the enhanced radio performance and ease of deployment. Ericsson will install the radio, tower and switch room equipment, as well as provide consulting and systems integration and rollout services. Ericsson will also provide turnkey services in the areas of installation, commissioning, integration and migration.

"T-Mobile continues to be at the forefront of 4G innovation and we're excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Ericsson as we modernize our network and deploy LTE in 2013," said Neville Ray, chief technology officer, T-Mobile USA. "By partnering with Ericsson, T-Mobile expects to be the first carrier in the nation to deploy the company's Antenna Integrated Radio technology, enabling accelerated deployment and reduced site loading."

This new deal continues Ericsson's long-standing relationship with T-Mobile USA.  In 2006, Ericsson expanded its existing network contract with T-Mobile USA to include a nationwide 3G network. In 2010, Ericsson further enhanced T-Mobile USA's network with the deployment of  HSPA+ 21 technology, and again in 2011 with HSPA+ 42 technology.

"This contract marks a significant milestone for Ericsson in North America and further establishes our network leadership in the region," said Angel Ruiz, head of Ericsson's North American operations. "We are excited that our commitment to continued innovation in technology, services and design will further enhance T-Mobile USA's network and extend our long-standing relationship with the carrier."

Ericsson's AIR solution is designed to blend into the environment and closely resemble a traditional antenna although it has built-in active radio units. The benefits include simplified site acquisition and reduction of energy consumption by up to 40-45 percent at typical load, compared to alternative site solutions using standard base stations combined with passive antennas.

Ericsson has signed 46 LTE/EPC contracts in 23 countries on five continents. The global LTE population coverage is 325 million, of which 215 million are covered by Ericsson networks.

T-Mobile To Introduce Unlimited Calling To Any Mobile On April 4th, No Contract Required

I have to say, I’m thrilled to see T-Mobile add this to their current rate plan offerings and for such a good value. “Beginning April 4th, T-Mobile will offer Unlimited Any Mobile, a $10 per month subscriber-level feature that includes unlimited calling to any domestic mobile number, including Puerto Rico, regardless of carrier.” Love it.

So why choose Unlimited Any Mobile?

1. No contracts required — Customers currently on rate plans with limited minute allotments may be hesitant to bump up to the unlimited plans due to a contract extension. This $10 add-on doesn’t require a contract extension and considering 80% of T-Mobile calls are made to mobile numbers, it can just be as good as Unlimited.

2. Bill reduction — Customers with monthly overage charges but still hesitant to jump on to an unlimited plan may find the $10 a month Unlimited Any Mobile plan very beneficial.

3. Does not change existing rate plan — Unlimited Any Mobile will not require a change to your existing rate plan and can be added or removed at any time. Customers anticipating a short-term rise in call volume, can add Unlimited Any Mobile for a billing cycle or two and then remove the feature.

I love the idea of a Unlimited Any Mobile feature and while it’s hard to argue that Unlimited Minute plans don’t offer the very same feature, for some…this is a great offer.

Thanks TmoExpert88!

The range of branded vehicles myTouch, sold by the operator T-Mobile began in 2009 when the company introduced the operator's version of HTC Smartphone HTC Magic. C since the Taiwanese company was the sole producer of a series of vehicles, except for a couple of devices under the brand LG myTouch published last year. Now it became known that they will be replaced by smartphones, developed and manufactured by a Chinese company Huawei. Models and U8730 Huawei U8680 almost identical, except for the fact that one of them has a built-in hardware keyboard and performed, respectively, in the case of lateral QWERTY-slider, and the second - candy bar. Other characteristics of the devices remain a mystery. It is reported that Huawei U8680 and U8730 are running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and have touch screens with a resolution of WVGA (480x800 pixels). It is assumed that such devices will be available at the operator T-Mobile in the spring (approximately late May). At the same time expressed the view that in the current year, Huawei could no longer be nameless manufacturer of devices for operators and end of the year in the U.S. market will be the model under its own brand of Chinese, which will be sold by T-Mobile or AT & T.

T-Mobile Poland, Orange Poland to improve network coverage, offer better quality services through radio network sharing

Nokia Siemens Networks to consolidate and upgrade operators’ GSM and HSPA radio networks, preparing for evolution to LTE

T-Mobile Poland and Orange Poland have selected Nokia Siemens Networks as one of the vendors to deploy and upgrade their GSM and HSPA networks, enable radio network sharing and prepare them for Long Term Evolution (LTE). Currently, Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa operates the T-Mobile network, while PTK Centertel runs the Orange network, and these will be managed by a joint venture called NetWorkS! Nokia Siemens Networks will provide its Single RAN (radio access network) platform and related services to improve the network performance, reduce costs and make the shared network LTE-ready.

“We are focused on delivering high-quality services and introducing the latest technologies in Poland. The network upgrade and development will significantly improve the performance and quality of the shared infrastructure, which will be the largest in the country, to provide an optimum end-user experience. In Nokia Siemens Networks, we have a partner with a global experience of network sharing deployments and this will ensure a speedy roll-out for us,” said Milan Zika, director of the technology and networks division and Board Member, T-Mobile Poland.

“The network consolidation and upgrade is an important part of what we aim to deliver with the radio network sharing. It will result in higher network availability and improve the quality of services for Orange and T-Mobile subscribers in Poland. At the same time, it will enable better use of network resources and make new investments optimal,” said Maciej Witucki, chief executive officer of the Telekomunikacja Polska Group, which owns PTK Centertel.

Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks’ Single RAN platform, based on the compact, energy efficient Flexi Multiradio Base Stations, will replace a large part of the existing GSM and HSPA radio access sites. The platform will also allow a percentage of the existing sites to be re-used, thereby lowering costs while protecting investments. In future, it will enable a smooth transition to LTE through a simple software upgrade.

Nokia Siemens Networks’ NetAct network management system will ensure a single view of all the different network technologies, consolidating network monitoring, management and optimization within this shared environment. The contract also includes a range of services, including construction works and the full set of care services comprising hardware services, proactive software services and 3,000 hours of training as part of competence development services.

“So far, no operator has undertaken a multiradio RAN sharing initiative of such a broad scope and we are excited to be part of this implementation. Our Single RAN platform will not only enable the operators to adopt new technologies at a rapid pace and use different spectrum bands efficiently but also reduce the cost of delivering high-quality voice and mobile broadband to end-users,” said Thorsten Robrecht, head of Network Systems Product Management at Nokia Siemens Networks.
